Device pushed through a pipeline by fluid pressure to clean wax and scale, inspect the pipe wall, or separate fluid batches. Intelligent pigs carry sensors that map the pipeline's wall thickness and detect anomalies. Launching and receiving a pig is a dedicated offshore operation.
